Concert Crap – Concert Review: StrateJacket Joins to the U.S. Open of Surfing (8.16.24)

StrateJachet-8-of-8

The nineties punk inspired trio arrived in Huntington Beach, California at the Hurley stage for the U.S. Open. The same stage that was once shared by bands such as Weezer3OH!3 and Cold War Kids for seasonal events. StrateJacket comes from the Bay area with early vibes of punk rock. They introduced Orange County and fans around to their youth spirited style, a familiar sound of Green DayLit and All Time Low

The show started 1 PM sharp. It was a glorious hot and sunny day out. It was a thrilling time to hear rock music on the sand. Hosted by Lexus, StrateJacket arrived, ready to bring the show to the anticipated audience. It was an intimate outdoor setting concert with an upbeat crowd, beers flowing and sweat dripping from the heat, dancing to the similar sounds of 90’s punk and mid-2000’s alternative.

The sprightly, high octane performance gravitated onlookers towards the music. It was a sight to see the faces of joy and curiosity surrounding the section.

It was a 21 and over event, however, many people were able to hear and see StrateJacket from the sidelines. There were views of the ocean and music in the air making it the perfect summer memory.
